The Founders
Founding partners Gary Jenkins, Pete Pierce and Steve Davis all have years of collective experience with different aspects of software-related businesses, and all three shared the same vision-that a small, different-thinking company could take on large software giants and change the home design software market in the process.
Concept and Birth
Punch! Software was born in early 1998. The partners agreed that the current offerings of home design software were lacking in both intuitiveness and graphic realism of the final product. Unique to Punch! Software is a graphics engine that creates robust real-time 3D graphics with incredible speed. In addition, Punch! products use a single interface integrating all the different program components--home design, landscape, interior design and so on. These basic differences would revolutionize home design software. The partners sensed that the public was hungry for this new technology…and they were right.
The First Child
Punch!'s first product, Home Design Complete, was released in September of 1998. Graphic Specialist, Gary Worth, was brought in to design the packaging. VP of Sales, Shellee Smith, who joined the company soon after it was formed, launched the product into the retail channel throughout the US and Canada. The product was well received by the software-buying public for its unique features and Punch! had its first best-selling hit by Christmas of that year.
Raising the Family
The success of subsequent products has been phenomenal. The first seven Punch! Software products were on the top 10 bestseller list within the first three years of Punch! Software's existence; several are still in the top five and the company has held the number one position since April 2000. Partner Steve Davis attributes this to continual new cutting-edge technologies added to products and frequent software updates that keep customers up-to-date and loyal.

With an in-house staff numbering a mere 16 people, Punch! Software is the #1 best-selling home and landscape design retail software brand in the United States for years 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005!
