Where Was al-Jiyya Located?

al-Jiyya is located in the west part of Gaza District, south of al-Majdal, east of Ni'ilya, as shown on the map.

Al Jiyyah located 12.5 miles NE of Gaza. Population: 1,230. Obliterated in 1948, with the Jewish settlements of Ge'a, Talme Yaff and Shioma built on its 2,127 acres.

al-Jiyya:

2 settlements were established on al-Jiyya village lands. All traces of the village have been completely obliterated. Some sycamore trees grow on the site.
